United Christian Charities (UCC), established in 1998, is a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation. The specific purpose of this corporation is to assist in funding and providing resources to Christian Missions. Including but not limited to evangelical outreach programs, home fellowships, disaster relief programs; to operate Christian Educational Centers; to solicit and receive contributions, purchase, own and sell Real and Personal Property, to make contracts, to invest corporate funds, to spend corporate funds for corporate purposes, and to engage in any activity “in furthering of, incidental to, or connected with any of the other purposes.” The following summarizes the UCC Disaster Relief Program:

UCC Disaster Relief

Trains and prepares teams of volunteers to assist in the event of natural disasters. The teams are sent to afflicted areas to rebuild, and to help the victims restore their damaged living conditions quickly. They assist with food distribution and to provide help in any facet of disaster relief. Helping people is the goal of the team. Showing love in feeding the hungry and helping the needy is in the spirit of each team.

WHEN

Volunteers are sent out quickly to declared disaster areas. Each afflicted area is unique and therefore UCC does not set regular departure schedules. Travel, arrival safety and preparation are a consideration before teams are sent. Teams are sent to help as a relief and not to be a social burden to the community; therefore, travel arrangements, local conditions, and prior preparation are considered before teams are sent.

HOW

A Disaster Relief Team will devote their time and energy to the rebuilding of families' hopes, homes, and lives. They will work side by side with other organizations such as the AMERICAN RED CROSS AND OPERATION BLESSING, to maximize relief operation. A Disaster Relief Team will not only do UCC volunteer help during time of disaster, but also work in their local communities to raise donations. We believe it is our enthusiasm and flexibility that have made outstanding relief efforts successful. The funds that are currently collected will enable us to respond quickly whenever a future need arises.
